Year 2 of multi-year rate increase goes into effect: In December 2010, after a noticed public hearing, the
District’s Board approved a four-year rate setting strategy. The first increase
took effect January 1, 2011 with all following increases becoming effective on January
1 of each year through January 2014. Effective January 1, 2012, the District’s
tiered rates increased from $3.56 to $3.66 per unit for water consumption in
Tier 1 (budgeted use) and from $5.96 to $6.10 per unit for consumption in Tier
2 (inefficient use). Bi-monthly meter charges increased by 3 percent. A typical
customer using 25 units within budget will see their bills increase by $3.23 (3
percent) per bi-monthly billing period.
Laguna Beach Farmers Market: Once a month, District personnel are available at the Laguna Beach Farmer's Market to answer questions and provide District customers with FREE conservation products. Orange County Hazard Mitigation Plan The Municipal Water District of Orange County seeks public input on the update to the 2007 Orange County Hazard Mitigation Plan.
2012 "Roll out the Rain Barrel" art contest call for entries The District is seeking entries for its popular
"Roll Out the Rain Barrel" art contest. The contest is open to 1st through
12th graders attending school in the District’s service area, as well
as Laguna College of Art and Design students, and District customers.
