Selection Procedure
The District conducts a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on review of the employment application. The most qualified candidates may be invited to participate in the selection process that will consist of an individual interview and/or an interview panel and testing. If you feel that you need special arrangements due to a medically diagnosed disability, please submit your request in writing at the time you submit the completed application form(s). Pre-Employment Requirements
All offers of employment are contingent on successful completion of a District paid physical and satisfactory background investigation, including proof of a valid California driver license and safe driving record free of accidents and serious traffic violations for the past two years. The physical examination includes drug and alcohol testing, and may include physical abilities testing. In accordance with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service, you are required to provide proof of your eligibility to work in the United States on your first day of employment with the District.
Employment with the Laguna Beach County Water District is “At Will.” This means that you or the District can terminate your employment at any time, with or without notice or cause. As an “At Will” employee, you are not guaranteed, in any manner, that you will be employed for any set period of time.
No representative of the District has any authority to enter into any agreement for employment, make commitments or promises, or assure any benefit terms, unless made in writing and signed by the General Manager of the District.

Work Environment
Laguna Beach County Water District provides a challenging work environment that encourages and supports team problem-solving. The District's staff consists of approximately 40 full-time employees, 25 of whom are field operational personnel and 14 office staff performing engineering, clerical, administration, and management functions.
